Travel The World With Cheap Ticket Flights

Cost and flights to america??

Jan-13-2009 By admin

I have researched many travel pages and brochures, trying to find the cheapest flight for a family of 4 to go to America, accomodation is not necessary, can anyone give me details of cheap deals they have had, or any help at all would be very helpful.
I forgot quite an important point there, I would be travelling from Glasgow in Scotland. That would be helpful to know
and destination would be around the New york area!

This would be a LOT easier to answer if we knew where you were starting from & where you wanted to go!

I am going to the States this summer with my 11 year old son. I paid about £507.00 for two return tickets. One adult & one child. It is much cheaper to book well in advance and you tend to get cheaper deals on the internet, by booking online you can save quite a bit.

I have just booked with American Airlines over the phone using the Mastercard offer (50%) off. The total price for two adult direct flights from London Heathrow to JFK in November for a week priced £592.00 this included taxes.

Be warned, although this was the cheapest I could find for direct flights, the prices that AA show on the internet are not the same as those that they use when you call in to book. They are not allowed to use the low price flights quoted by the internet which was £633.00 and then apply 50% discount. Also the 50% does only apply to the FLIGHT price you would still have to pay the whole price for taxes, which in my case was around £162.00.

However, this offer was still the cheapest I could find!

From Glasgow Flyglobespan now operate direct flights to Boston.
I flew with them to Orlando in April, and aren't bad for cheap seats, but I would pay the extra for premium economy on a long flight, because economy doesn't include meals.
To New York the only airline that flys direct from Glasgow is Continental, but they aren't really that cheap. Depending on dates probably around £250pp + tax around £150. and during the summer months they don't offer child discounts on a lot of their fares!
If you want to go indirect I've always found KLM to be the cheapest out of Glasgow, only one transit and you can avoid Heathrow.
